GRAND OPENING CEREMONIES NEXT WEEK FOR NEW LITTLE FREE LIBRARIES AT BRENHAM PARKS
The City of Brenham and Fortnightly Club of Brenham will celebrate the expansion of a book-sharing movement at several local parks.

Grand opening ceremonies will be held next Tuesday, April 6th for the new Little Free Libraries at Jerry Wilson, Hattie Mae Flowers and Jackson Street Parks. The celebrations are open to the public, and will be held at 4 p.m. at Jerry Wilson Park, 5 p.m. at Hattie Mae Flowers Park, and 6 p.m. at Jackson Street Park.
Little Free Libraries act as neighborhood book exchanges, inviting the public to either take or leave a book.
Families are invited to bring a book to help stock the new libraries and share it with the community. The Fortnightly Club will continually monitor the libraries to ensure books remain appropriate and also restock when needed.
City of Brenham Community Services Specialist Crystal Locke says the Little Free Libraries do not just belong to the city; they belong to everyone. She says the hope is that the libraries will “bring joy, connection, and a whole lot more books to our community.”
Suzy Hankins, a member of the Fortnightly Club, says the Little Free Libraries are for all ages and interests, as there are fiction and non-fiction books for adults and children, and even some books in Spanish.
