‘FLEECE’ NAMED PET OF THE WEEK

The Brenham Pet Adoption Center has named “Fleece” as its Pet of the Week.

Fleece is an adult tabby cat who is feline leukemia positive.  Brenham Animal Services staff say Fleece can still live a long, full life with her diagnosis as long as she is protected from infection and her immune system is supported.

Staff say Fleece is spayed, and that she would prefer a quiet home where she can have a lap all to herself.  Staff recommend keeping her indoors to prevent exposure to infectious diseases and from spreading the virus to other cats, as the virus is spread through saliva.

Potential pet adopters or fosters can go online to www.petfinder.com to see the shelter’s available pets.  They can also make an appointment to meet a pet by calling 979-337-7351, or by visiting the Brenham Animal Services Facebook page.  The shelter is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
