BRENHAM SCHOOL BOARD TO SWEAR IN TRUSTEES, RECOGNIZE STUDENTS
The Brenham School Board will recognize incoming and outgoing board members at its meeting Monday.
The board will administer the oath of office to returning trustee Tommie Sullivan and the newly elected Jared Krenek, who defeated longtime trustee Melvin Ehlert and fellow challenger Christine Giese in the May 1st election. Prior to swearing in the board members, trustees will recognize Ehlert for his 20 years of service on the board.
Also at Monday’s meeting, the board will recognize the Marine Corps Junior ROTC program for its national championship victory, the Brenham High School track team for its performance at state, and the students in Ben Lewis’ Gateway Science and Social Studies class, who wrote and published a book titled The American Experience.
The board will also discuss the district’s plan for closing the learning gap caused by COVID-19 in the 2021-22 school year. Trustees will also hold budget discussion, hear reports on the special education and Gifted and Talented programs, and go over monthly reports. The board will then meet in executive session to discuss possible approval of a Director of Information Technology.
The board will meet Monday evening at 6 p.m. in rooms 111 and 113 at Brenham High School. The meeting will be livestreamed on Brenham ISD’s YouTube channel.
