BASS TOURNAMENT SATURDAY AT LAKE SOMERVILLE TO BENEFIT BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR
The public is invited tomorrow (Saturday) to a bass tournament at the Lake Somerville Overlook Marina benefitting the recovery of a Brenham High School senior.
The Washington County Bass Club is hosting an open team bass tournament to raise money for Collin Smith, a member of the Brenham Anglers bass fishing team who was seriously injured in an accident in January.
Angela Dollar, a family friend of the Smiths, explains Collin’s road to recovery.
Registration for the tournament begins at 5:30 a.m., with safe light to 3 p.m.
Entry per team is $140, with a five fish limit. First place in the tournament will receive $1,500. Paid places will be awarded based on the number of boats entered.
There will be a 100 percent payback big bass pot, in addition to $100 hourly for the biggest bass on the leaderboard from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Food will also be served for a free will donation, and there will be a bucket drawing.
