ZYTHOLOGICAL HOMEBREW COMPETITION KICKS OFF IN BRENHAM

The first-ever homebrew competition series hosted by the Texas Chapter of the Zythological Society of North America got underway Saturday in Brenham.

The “Brews over Texas” series began with the Brew S. Open at Brazos Valley Brewing Company.

The top three finishers on Saturday were David Schnittger with an American wheat beer, followed by Carl Kasparek with an orange creamsicle cream ale and Curtis Hamilton with a Weissbier.

Points are awarded to the top ten entries in each competition, accumulating through all four contests to determine the grand champion of the series. The winner will be crowned during the 2022 Brenham Maifest.

The series will continue with Boot Scootin’ Brews on October 9^th at the Austin County Fair in Bellville.
