A student at First Baptist Church School in Brenham is taking part in a national youth leadership program this summer.

Kelton Ryan Galle of New Ulm will join outstanding middle school students from across the nation to participate in the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C.

The conference, part of a family of programs by Envision by WorldStrides, is a unique academic and career-oriented development experience that gives students an opportunity to explore their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom.

Kelton was nominated to the conference by one of his teachers at First Baptist Church School, Bobbi Jo Supak.  His teachers say he has a love of history and science, as well as compassion and an ability to motivate others.

Kelton is actively involved in Boy Scout Troop 299 in Industry and Welcome 4-H.  He attends St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of New Ulm, and is a member of the Men’s Gymnastics team at Gymnastics Connection in Brenham.  His future aspirations include cattle ranching and becoming a developer in the auto industry.

At the Junior National Young Leaders Conference, students build the confidence and skills needed to excel in high school, college, and the workplace.  They learn how to adapt to and communicate in new situations, to new challenges, and with new people.
