VOLLEYBALL PRACTICES GET UNDERWAY ACROSS TEXAS AND WASHINGTON COUNTY

 

Workouts have begun for high school volleyball teams across the state, including Brenham and Burton.

The Cubettes and Lady Panthers took to the floor, Monday to prepare for the 2021 season.  Both teams return strong rosters from last year.

Brenham returns eight players from the 2020 team that finished 19-6 and advanced to the Region Semifinals.

Among the returnees are six players who received All-District honors last year: Brooke Bentke, OH; Kaylen Kruse, Setter; Kristen Kuehn, Setter; Tanner Dickens, RS; Ada Stopshinski, RS; and, Sienna Kelm, DS.

The Cubettes will scrimmage at Cy Falls, Friday and Katy, Saturday.  Both scrimmages begin at 9:00 a.m.

Brenham will open the 2021 season next Tuesday (8/10) at home to Katy Taylor at 5:30.

The Lady Panthers return all players from last year's team that battled to a 14-11 record and reached the playoffs with a very young, inexperienced squad.

With a year's experience, eight all-district selections return, including Defensive MVP, Mikaela Wilke.  She is joined by other returnees, including: Allie Hohlt, Mycah Simank, Liesha Aguilar, Briana Torres, Victoria Wiesepape, Abby Lamson and Jynisha Randle.

Burton has not yet posted their 2021 schedule.
