Early giving is underway for the 3rd Annual Brazos Valley Gives fundraiser for Brazos Valley nonprofit organizations.

The Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley launched Brazos Valley Gives and the beginning of early giving during a ribbon cutting on Thursday.

Brazos Valley Gives held a kick-off event on Thursday ahead of Brazos Valley Gives Day on Thursday, October 19th, which will feature 18 hours of online fundraising for nonprofits across the 7-county region of the Brazos Valley.

Over 135 nonprofits are participating in the fundraising campaign, including 106 in Brazos County, 18 in Washington County, six in Burleson County, four in Grimes County and one each in Madison and Robertson counties.

The fundraiser is presented by the Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley and Tom Light Chevrolet of College Station.

The goal for this year’s event is $750,000.  Last year, 136 nonprofits received a financial benefit from $801,462 raised.

All donations pass through directly to the donor’s charity or charities of choice.
