TWO ARRESTED FOR THEFT WEDNESDAY

Two people were arrested Wednesday in separate incidents at the Walmart store in Brenham.

Brenham Police report that at 1:20 PM, officers were dispatched to Walmart in reference to a theft. Employees of the business witnessed the suspect, Evelin Campos Smith 38 of Burton, switching price tags and skipped scanning several items totaling over $100 in theft. She was then taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Theft.

At 11:20 PM, officers were dispatched to Walmart in reference to a theft. Employees reported a male subject was attempting to exit the store after passing all points of sale carrying a subwoofer valued at $194.92.  Further investigation revealed the same subject removed items from the clothing area of store, then passed points of sale without paying for the items and approached the customer service desk. The subject received a refund for the unpaid items. The total theft amount was over $100. The subject was located sitting inside a vehicle in the parking lot of Walmart and was placed in custody. The subject, Michael Lee Riccardelli 34 of Conroe, was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with Theft.
