EARLY VOTING NUMBERS REMAIN STABLE

  

The first week of early voting nears its conclusion in Washington County and Burton ISD.

According to County Election Administrator Carol Jackson, there were 72 early voters on Thursday for the constitutional amendment election.  Through four days, 328 voters have participated in the election.

Burton ISD saw 25 early voters on Thursday for the bond election, bringing the total thus far to 116.

Early voting for the constitutional amendment election continues today (Friday) at the Washington County Courthouse Annex from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Early voting will resume with extended hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, followed by a return to regular hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.

Jackson reminds voters that today is the last day to submit an application to vote by mail.  Applications must be in the elections office by 5 p.m.  Ballots will not be mailed to voters whose applications are received after this date.

The Burton High School auditorium will offer longer voting hours for the bond election today, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  It will also be open for voting tomorrow (Saturday) from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m.  Voting hours next week are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday.
