The Buccaneers continued their hot season-opening stretch with a 68-65 overtime victory over Western Texas College in a non-conference rematch Saturday in Snyder, Texas.
Blinn is now 6-0 after defeating the Westerners for the second time this season. The Buccaneers earned a 75-65 home win over Western Texas on Nov. 6.
This time, Blinn rallied from behind in the fourth quarter to force overtime before freshman guard Telisha Brown gave the visiting Buccaneers a boost with 10 points in the five-minute overtime.

Blinn led 14-9 after the first quarter and 34-20 by halftime. Western Texas surged ahead 43-41 heading into the fourth quarter before the Buccaneers forced a 56-56 tie at the end of regulation.
That’s when Brown shined, scoring 10 of her team-high 15 points to push Blinn to victory.
“We survived against a hard-working team on the road not playing our best basketball,” Buccaneers head coach Jeff Jenkins said.
Following Brown with double-digit scoring efforts were freshman guard Skylar Barnes, who tallied 11 points, and freshman forward Tiffany Tullis, who added 10. Freshmen Hannah Humphrey and Allana Thompson posted nine and seven points, respectively, and sophomore forward Deja Adrian chipped in six.
Blinn will stay on the road for another rematch when it visits Temple College at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Buccaneers defeated Temple 81-66 at home Nov. 11 at the Kruse Center in Brenham.
