TWO ARRESTED BY BRENHAM POLICE AFTER TRAFFIC STOPS

  

Two people were arrested over the weekend in separate incidents after traffic stops.

On Friday, at 11:10 PM, Brenham Police Sergeant Joseph Merkley initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of College Ave and South Jackson Streets due to an equipment violation.  Upon further investigation, the front seat passenger, 20-year-old Jillian Richardson of Houston, was arrested for possession of marijuana less than 2 oz.  She was transported and booked into the county jail.

Then on Sunday morning, at 11:20 AM, Officers with the Brenham Police Department initiated a traffic stop near the 1000 block of Highway 290 East.  An investigation was conducted and the driver, Michael Crockett, 22 of Tomball, was taken into custody for Possession of a controlled substance and Unlawful Carry of a Weapon.
