WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS APPROVE MAINTENANCE PERIOD FOR CHAPPELL CREEK LANE

Washington County Commissioners approved placing Chappell Creek Lane into a one-year maintenance period and reducing its required bond amount at a brief meeting today (Tuesday).

Chappell Creek Lane is located in the Chappell Creek subdivision in Precinct 2, and measures .211 miles.

County Engineer Ross McCall said the one-year maintenance period will be used to address some small issues before bringing the road into the county system.

The issues noted in the agenda packet for the meeting include the placement of a “no outlet” sign near the entrance, the placement of a stop bar, a difference between the installed 25 mph speed limit sign and the proposed speed limit of 30 mph, and the removal of spoil material from TxDOT right-of-way caused by utility installation.

Also at today’s meeting, commissioners:

  • Approved a formal notice from Corix Utilities for a road bore to provide a new water service line on Allen Road in Precinct 1.
  • Heard monthly reports from the emergency management coordinator, county and district clerks, justices of the peace, auditor, tax assessor/collector, treasurer, constables and elections office.
