5TH ANNUAL TURKEY TROT THURSDAY IN ROUND TOP
Runners around the area are gearing up for tomorrow’s (Thursday) 5th Annual Turkey Trot in Round Top.
Rain is in the forecast for tomorrow morning’s event, hosted by the Round Top Lions Club, but organizers say they intend to proceed with plans as normal. If the weather becomes too severe, then the event will be postponed. Any updates will be posted at www.roundtoplionsclub.org.
The event is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. at the Henkel Square Market, where runners can start a 10K, 5K or 1 Mile Fun Run and wind their way through the Round Top countryside.
Awards will be presented to the top two male and female runners in the 5K and 10K, and trophies will be given to the top male and female runners ages 15 and under, 16-30, 31-55 and 56 and up. Everyone who finishes the Fun Run will receive a medal.
Online registration is closed, but runners can still register tomorrow morning at the event for $45.
Runners can pick up their packets this (Wednesday) afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at Henkel Hall. They can also pick them up tomorrow from 7 to 8:15 a.m.
