If you’re considering a wildlife exemption or have a current wildlife exemption for your rural property, an all-day workshop coming up at Blinn College may be of interest to you.

A Washington County Wildlife Valuation Workshop will be held on Wednesday, December 10th from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Blinn College Rankin Ag Complex. The workshop is presented in conjunction with the Washington County Wildlife Society, Washington County Appraisal District, Texas Parks and Wildlife and Blinn College. A large variety of topics will be covered during the day, including “Introduction to Wildlife Valuation”, Stream Function and Riparian BMP’s, Native and Agricultural Forage for Wildlife, Managing Habitat for Non-game Birds, Grassland Restoration Incentive Program: Moving the Needle for Native Grassland Conservation, Grazing the Prairie, and the Washington County Appraisal District.

Registration for the December 10th workshop is $12 per person and includes a catered lunch. You can drop off or mail your registration to Washington County Wildlife Society, 1305 East Blue Bell Road in Brenham. For more information, call 979-277-6297. The deadline to register is December 6th.
