TOURISM ADVISORY BOARD APPOINTS CHAIRPERSONS

  

The Brenham Tourism Advisory Board elected board chairpersons during its first-ever meeting Thursday.

Scott Atwood was selected to serve as board chair, while Jenny Van Dorf was named vice chair.

The board also approved quarterly meeting dates or otherwise meeting as needed.

In other business, the board reviewed the interlocal tourism agreement and board by-laws and policies.  It also received a report from the Visit Brenham Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) and went over the responsibilities of the committees involved with the board, which are the grant funding committee, grant eligibility committee, Texas Music Friendly committee and Washington County Expo committee.

The Tourism Advisory Board was formed last year to replace the Hotel Occupancy Tax Board.
