National Beta members from Citadel Christian School in Brenham are celebrating the results from their recent participation in the Junior Beta Club State Convention.

Students competed in various academic and STEM-based virtual and performing arts competitions either remotely or in person at the Gaylord Conference Center in Grapevine.

Team Citadel placed third in Elementary 2-Dimensional Design and Junior Songfest.

Madelyn Borgstedte earned a first place ranking for Elementary Poetry.  She also placed first in Elementary Performing Arts in the solo, duet and trio category.

Norah Forman finished second in 5th Grade Language Arts.

The victories at the state level provide the opportunity to compete at the national convention, which will be held this summer at the Gaylord Opryland Resort in Nashville, Tennessee.

Greta Hernandez, a teacher at Citadel Christian School and a parent of current Beta Club members, said the school is “extremely proud” of the team for working hard for these accomplishments.  She said attending the state convention helps students grow in their understanding of the club’s mission and guide them to be strong leaders.

Citadel Christian School chartered its Beta Club in 2020 and currently has 18 active members.  The club sponsors monthly service projects that allow its members and the full school population to serve the local community.
