FARM BUREAU HYDROPONICS VISITS KRAUSE ELEMENTARY

Krause Elementary Students watch the hydroponics Zoom meeting

The Texas Farm Bureau has released a program called “Farm From School” to increase agriculture literacy among students across the state of Texas.

Each month, students from Brenham’s Krause Elementary School will have the opportunity to visit different farms and ranches across the state of Texas through a live Zoom meeting.

Last week, Texas Farm Bureau gave fourth graders at the school a virtual tour of a hydroponic farm called True Harvest Farm, which is located in Belton.

True Harvest Farm produces lettuce for stores and schools across the Lone Star State.

The students were very receptive to the program and had many questions for the hydroponic farmer.

Texas Farm Bureau hopes that by exploring these job opportunities at an elementary level it may “plant seeds” for what students may want to do with their future.
