SHERWOOD FOREST FAIRE OPENS MARCH 5 IN McDADE
Medieval England comes to life starting next weekend in McDade.
The 13th Annual Sherwood Forest Faire opens for the spring on Saturday, March 5th. The medieval festival, based on the tales of Robin Hood and his merry men, features over 150 shows per day by more than 40 different stage acts, such as full-contact jousting, archery, falconry, fire juggling, knife throwing, comedy and live bands.
The village, located 35 miles east of Austin, has over 100 permanent buildings on 25 acres, including stages, pubs, merchant shoppes, wedding venues and a complete castle. Over 170 artisans and merchants will offer handcrafted items and distinctive wares.
The village will be open from 10 a.m. to dusk, rain or shine, each weekend through Sunday, April 24th. It will also be open on Spring Break Friday, March 18th.
