LEE COUNTY JUNIOR LIVESTOCK SHOW BEGINS NEXT WEEK

  

Preparations are underway for the start of next week’s Lee County Junior Livestock Show in Giddings.

The Junior Livestock show runs Wednesday, March 2, to Friday, March 5 at the Lee County Fairgrounds.

On Wednesday, March 2, the animals can begin arriving at 2pm, and all animals must be in the Barn by 6pm.

There is a Mandatory Livestock Exhibitor Meeting  at 6:05pm, followed by the Weigh-In for Market Hogs, Lambs, and Steers at 6:30pm.

On Thursday, March 3, the Broilers and Rabbits are scheduled to arrive between 7-8am. The Broiler Show will be held at 8:30am. The Meat Rabbit Show is being held at 10am followed by the Breeding Rabbit Show.

The cakes are scheduled to arrive between 8-10:30am, and the cake judging will be held at 11am.

The day finishes off with the Junior Breeding Heifer Show at 1pm and the Bred Commercial Heifer Show at 5pm.

On Friday, March 4, they will have the Market Hog Show at 8am, the Market Lamb Show at 2pm, the Market Goat Show at 3:30pm, and the Market Steer Show at 6pm.

The Junior Livestock Show wraps up on Saturday, March 5, with the sale at 1:30pm.

Last year, the sale shattered all records with nearly $1 million being raised for the youth of Lee County.
