BRENHAM PLANNING & ZONING APPROVES REPLATS, ZONING AMENDMENT

The Brenham Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously approved three items, including two replat requests and a zoning change, at its meeting Monday.

Commissioners granted a zoning amendment to the Brenham Housing Authority (BHA), adjusting the zoning for the 1.2 acre property at 1003 Hasskarl Drive that currently serves as the site of the community center at Fairview Terrace.  The zoning change from R-2 Mixed Residential Use to B-1 Local Business Mixed Use will allow BHA to expand the allowable uses for possible future development of the community center.

Also approved was a replat request from Kenya Mitchell, which will allow for the division of 3.95 acres of vacant land on Pleasant View Avenue, next to Hattie Mae Flowers Park, to build a duplex and incorporate a common area.

The final request approved by the commission was from Brody and Kristen Jungers, allowing for a replat to divide their 4.3 acre lot at 1680 Pecan Glen Road in the Pecan Glen subdivision into two lots.  One of the lots is currently developed as a single-family home, and the other can now be used for further residential development.
