HOUSTON MAN ARRESTED BY FAYETTE COUNTY

A Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested a Houston man Tuesday night on multiple charges.

Fayette County Sheriff’s Office reports that Tuesday night at 10:45 Deputy Jared Michalec conducted a traffic stop on a 2018 gray Toyota Camry for a traffic violation on Highway 71 West near Makinson Road. The vehicle initially stopped but as Michalec approached the vehicle, it took off and a pursuit ensued. After a very brief pursuit, the vehicle crashed into the ditch and the driver fled on foot. Michalec was able to apprehend the subject after a short distance. Inside the vehicle, Deputy Michalec located approximately 13.6 pounds of marijuana and 5 pounds of cocaine. The driver identified as Jose Guerrero, 36 of Houston, was arrested and charged with Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle, Possession of Marijuana between 5 and 50 pounds and Possession of a Controlled Substance over 400 grams.
