SETH BROESCHE MEMORIAL RANCH RODEO BEING HELD IN NAVASOTA
The Seth Broesche Memorial Ranch Rodeo is coming up this weekend in Navasota.
This year’s event is being held in memory of Scot Nevill of Iola, the owner of the Scot Nevill Rodeo Company, who passed away last year.
This year, the Women’s Ranch Rodeo and the Men’s Ranch Rodeo are being held on the same night, which will be this Saturday at the Grimes County Fairgrounds in Navasota.
The Women’s Ranch Rodeo is scheduled to start around 9am, with the Men’s Ranch Rodeo to follow.
The Women’s Ranch Rodeo will feature girls competing in teams of four in branding, mugging, and pasture roping.
The Men’s Ranch Rodeo is going to feature men in teams of five in events like branding, mugging, and pasture roping along with ranch bronc riding.
Buckles will be given to the champions, customers spurs will be given to the top hand, and a custom bit goes to the top horse.
There are also going to be up to $56,000 in cash prizes paid out.
In addition to the Ranch Rodeo, they are having a live auction, a crawfish broil, and a dance with music by the Risky Liver Band.
Admission to the Ranch Rodeo is $20 for adults, $10 for contestants, $5 for older kids, while kids 8 and under get in for free.
