BRENHAM PARKS AND REC BOARD TO SUBMIT ANNUAL PROJECT FUNDING REQUEST TO BCDC
The Brenham Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will look to submit its budget request for local park projects in the 2022-23 Fiscal Year when it meets Wednesday.
The board will discuss $1,562,742 in projects to potentially be funded by the Brenham Community Development Corporation (BCDC) in the upcoming fiscal year.
The total request includes a Parks and Recreation budget of $1,111,606 and a budget of $451,136 for the Blue Bell Aquatic Center. Noteworthy projects the board is seeking funding for are the first phase of play-for-all playground equipment at Brenham Family Park for $520,000, the first phase of a turf softball 4-plex at Hohlt Park for $433,680, and refurbishing the men’s and women’s locker room at the Aquatic Center for $208,000.
In other business, the board will receive a presentation and training on the city’s policies and procedures for advisory boards and commissions. It will also hear several staff reports.
The board will meet Wednesday at noon in the second-floor conference room at Brenham City Hall.
