FIVE STUDENTS GRADUATE FROM BLINN C.N.A. PROGRAM
The Blinn College District has recognized five students who have graduated from their Certified Nurse Aide Program.
Latria Mathis of Brenham, Sarah Gonzalez of Orange, Jessica Jones of Flower Mound, Kenzie Wise of Azle, and Lennox Yocham of Leander have completed the coursework and clinical training needed to take the Texas Department of Aging and Diability Services Exam to become Certified Nurse Aides.
In addition to hospitals, CNAs often are employed in nursing or elderly care facilities, where they frequently serve as principal caregivers.
Blinn’s 120-hour program is offered in Bryan and Brenham and consists of two courses that run concurrently.
The first course introduces students to basic patient care, including feeding, bathing, grooming, changing linens, transporting patients, infection controls, and safety procedures.
The second course includes clinical work at area facilities where students get hands-on experience caring for patients.
To enroll in Blinn’s CNA Program, students must first participate in a mandatory online healthcare information session.
The next section of the CNA Program begins Tuesday, June 7.
