The Friends of the Bluebonnet Opry will welcome a second-generation country music singer to their monthly concert event this Thursday night.
Dion Pride, the son of Country Music Hall of Famer Charley Pride, takes the stage at 7:30pm at the Silverwings Ballroom.
Pride has been performing since he was 14 years old. He is a songwriter, and plays multiple instruments including guitar, piano, drums, and bass.
Pride toured with his legendary father for five years. During that time, he was the opening act, and also played the lead guitar and keyboards for the main show.
While touring, he started incorporating some of his own material. The audiences were responsive to it, and Pride struck out on his own.
He has since then performed all over the world including the UK, Canada, and the United States in front audiences of 10,000 or more people.
Tickets to see Dion Pride at the Bluebonnet Opry are $8. The doors open and the grill fires up at 5:30pm. For more information, visit the Opry’s website at www.friendsofbluebonnetopry.com.
This will be a fabulous show!
