TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST OF BRENHAM MAN

A traffic stop Friday led to the arrest of a Brenham man for the sale of crack cocaine.
Brenham Police report that 4 months ago, The Crime Reduction Unit initiated an investigation of the sales of cocaine in the 1200 block of Ledbetter Lane. During the investigation, both physical and digital surveillance was conducted which revealed short-term traffic consistent with street-level narcotics sales. During the investigation, the CRU conducted multiple control purchases of crack cocaine from the resident which resulted in the issuance of an arrest warrant for Jamarcus Kewhan Johnson, 32 of Brenham, and a search warrant for his residence. On Friday, a traffic stop was conducted in the 1600 block of East Tom Green Street with the driver being Johnson who was taken into custody for the warrant. Then the search warrant for his residence was served. The search revealed evidence of street-level sales of cocaine. Johnson was arrested for the active warrant for Delivery of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone and booked on additional charges of possession of marijuana under two ounces and possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance in a drug-free zone.
