The Blinn Buccaneers are in the market for a new head baseball coach.

Longtime Head Coach and Brenham native Harvey McIntyre announced today (Tuesday) that he was stepping down.

McIntyre has been with the Blinn Baseball Program for the past 21 seasons  including the last 14 years as its head coach.

McIntyre is going to be moving into a new role as a full-time kinesiology professor at Blinn College.

His 447 career wins are second most in school history behind only the late, great Leroy Dreyer.

McIntyre also led the Bucs to 11 berths in the Region XIV Conference tournament, and which they won in 2014.

That same year, Blinn finished fifth at the NJCAA World Series and McIntyre was named both Region XIV Conference Coach of the Year and NJCAA Southern District Coach of the Year.

During his coaching career McIntyre also helped 211 student-athletes go on to play for four-year universities, 46 players play professional baseball, and two players make it to the Major Leagues.

McIntyre said that he is grateful for his time at Blinn, and is looking forward to his new role, as well as getting to spend more time with his family.
