The Washington County Ladies Lions Club continues to help out in the local community.

Recently, the organization made a donation of 17 custom made totes to Bluebonnet Haven in Brenham.

Lions Club Members Rachel Blankenberg and Linda Oberhoff made the presentation to employees at Bluebonnet Haven.

The donation brings the total to over 150 totes that have been donated in the past year. The Club thanked a local supporter, who designed and made the bags.

Bluebonnet Haven in Brenham opened in the fall of 2019 as a Trinity Charter Schools campus. Bluebonnet Haven currently serves students grades 6th-12th in a residential treatment facility. The teachers are dedicated to providing an excellent, structured education to the girls at the facility.

Their teachers help students to achieve new levels in their education through individualized learning plans, which are all based on each student’s learning style. Bluebonnet Haven uses interactive technology in our classrooms and by doing so They are able to provide many new opportunities to students. Their classes are small, therefore increasing the staff to student ratio.

The Bluebonnet Haven staff encourages their students to take responsibility for their educational goals. The students meet with the principal and registrar to evaluate their goals and set new goals. They want to be sure their students take an active part in their educational planning and which they feel leads to high success.
