FIVE ARRESTED BY BRENHAM POLICE THURSDAY

Brenham police made five arrests on Thursday.
Around 8:45 a.m., officers stopped a Toyota 4Runner SUV for no front license plate in the 2700 block of South Market Street. The driver, 34-year-old Derek Thomas of Houston, was placed in custody for Possession of Marijuana under 2oz and Possession of a Dangerous Drug.

At 9 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle near the 1300 block of Highway 290 East. After an investigation, the driver, 32-year-old Robert Walker of Austin, was taken into custody for Tampering with a Government Record.
Around 6:15 p.m., Sgt. John Snowden responded to the 2000 block of FM 389 in reference to a reported disturbance. After investigation, 47-year-old Charlene Hope Atkinson of Brenham was placed under arrest for Assault by Threat Family Violence.

Just before 7 p.m., Officer Connor Caskey was dispatched to the 600 block of West First Street in reference to a fight in progress. Investigation revealed that 30-year-old Timothy Godfrey of Chappell Hill had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.
Then shortly before 9:30 p.m., Officer Caskey, while on normal patrol duties in the area of FM 389 and Highway 290 West, stopped a vehicle for a moving violation. During that investigation, it was revealed that the driver, 29-year-old Brianna Horak of Ledbetter, was driving while intoxicated.
All five were transported to the Washington County Jail.
