BURTON CITY COUNCIL APPROVES SEEKING BIDS FOR STREET REPAIRS

The City of Burton will soon solicit bids to upgrade various roads.

The Burton City Council on Tuesday approved seeking bids for street repairs and repaving.

City Secretary Angela Harrington said there are several streets around the city that are badly in need of repairs.  She said the city will look at what those repairs cost and where to go from there.

Harrington noted that the city is not yet officially going out for bids, but the council’s action Tuesday does start that process.

In other items, the council approved an increase of $450 in the HDU Services monthly operating fee.  The added cost is due to the rise in fuel expenses required to perform water and sewer services.

The council also approved amended 2022-23 budgets to reflect actual income and expenses for the first quarter of the fiscal year.  It also authorized Harrington to have informational access to all city accounts at Citizens State Bank.
