The folks who buy these catalytic converters know when they are stolen. Likely they have folks in the auto salvage business who bring them in, but they know who the legitimate sellers are. If someone else brings in a bunch the buyer knows they are stolen. Throw the buyer and seller in jail and confiscate their property.
Be nice to catch them in the act, they would consider a career change.
I’m curious what Make and models of the vehicles involved. I know certain make and models are preferred for value of what the cat will bring. Also looking at the addresses, they are all on the north side of town. Sadly, the suspect or suspects could be from out of town and are long gone. Not a lot of options in keeping this type of theft from happening.
Two weeks back in broad daylight a friend told me hers was stolen. She only ran in for a few things and was parked close to the front. Cost her 3600 to replace because of the damage they caused. Walmart and H‑E‑B should provide security guards patrolling the parking lot.
This happened at Blinn College in broad daylight to an employees vehicle as well. They left the box the saw came in as well as the snacks they ate during the theft.
