NELSON CREEK FIRE IN WALKER COUNTY BURNS OVER 1,800 ACRES; 80 PERCENT CONTAINED

A fire that has spread over 1,800 acres in Walker County is nearly fully contained.
The Nelson Creek Fire has burned 1,852 acres since Monday afternoon, but is 80 percent contained as of 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.
The fire is burning north of Huntsville near Lost Indian Camp Road and Deer Lease Road, east of FM 247.
The Forest Service said containment lines have been constructed around the whole fire. Aviation and ground crews continue to work on suppressing the blaze.
No evacuations have been ordered.
