BRENHAM STARTS 2022 SEASON WITH A WIN, WHILE BURTON FALLS TO NAVASOTA

The Brenham Cubette Volleyball Team started the 2022 season off on a good note with a three set sweep over Katy Taylor last (Tuesday) night.

The Cubettes won the first set 25-12, and then won both the second and third set by identical scores of 25-14.

Brooke Bentke had 12 kills, while Charli Crowson dished out 16 assists.  Kristin Kuehn led the defense with 14 digs.

The Cubettes will next be at the Westwood Tournament, which runs Thursday thru Saturday.

 

Meanwhile, the Navasota Lady Rattlers are off to a 2-0 start after getting a 3-1 win over the Burton Lady Panthers last (Tuesday) night.

Navasota won the first two sets by identical scores of 25-19. Burton came back and won the third set 25-21.  Navasota, then, won the fourth set 25-8 to take the match.

Next up, Burton will also be taking part in the Westwood Tournament, which runs Thursday-Saturday.

 

OTHER VOLLEYBALL ACTION FROM LAST (TUESDAY) NIGHT:

Bryan swept Manor 3-0.

Rudder swept Lexington 3-0 and Huntsville 3-0.

College Station lost to Episcopal 3-2, and Fulshear 3-1.

A&M Consolidated fell to Cy Ranch 3-0.

Leon swept Caldwell 3-0.

Bellville swept Liberty 3-0 and Giddings 3-0.

Sealy defeated Fort Bend Kempner 3-0.

Trinity beat Snook 3-2.

Brazos Christian defeated Somerville 3-0.

Fayetteville swept Hempstead 3-0.

Columbus downed El Campo 3-0.

Fayetteville beat Hempstead 3-0.

La Grange got past Weimar 3-1.
