BLINN TO HOST PERFORMING ARTS SERIES AT THE O’DONNELL CENTER
The Blinn College District’s Performing Arts Series at the O’Donnell will return next month.
The series includes four family-friendly shows featuring music, magic, and acrobatics. All will be held at the Dr. W.W. O’Donnell Performing Arts Center on the Blinn College-Brenham Campus.
The first show is “The Greatest Piano Men” on Tuesday, September 20. The production celebrates the world’s greatest pianists and showmen from Elton John, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Little Richard to Beethoven and Liberace.
Next up, they will present “Billy McGuigan’s Pop Rock Orchestra” on Thursday, November 3. With this performance, McGuigan guides the audience through decades of classic gems while backed by a rock orchestra that can match his energy.
Then, taking the stage on February 2, will be “Mike Super Magic & Illusion.” Super has pioneered a new form of magic with a down-to-earth style and personality. He was the winner of NBC’s “Phenomenon”, and was a top finalist on “America’s Got Talent.”
The series wraps up on Saturday, March 25, with the Peking Acrobats. The Peking Acrobats have been performing for 32 years. Their act includes performing daring maneuvers atop a pagoda of chairs, trick cycling, precision tumbling, juggling, somersaulting, and gymnastics.
Tickets to the shows are available at the box office in the lobby of the O’Donnell Performing Arts Center Tuesdays-Fridays from 10am-5pm. You can also give them a call at 979-830-4024, or go on-line to www.blinn.edu/boxoffice.
Tickets to individual shows are $35 each, with a $15 option to attend a special pre-show reception featuring the artists. Season tickets, which include all four shows, are available for $125 with tickets to all four pre-show receptions available for an additional $40.
