FOUR ARRESTED AFTER TRAFFIC STOPS SATURDAY

Four people were arrested Saturday after traffic stops in Brenham.

Brenham Police report that early Saturday morning at 1:35, Cpl. Jimmy Ha effected a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Highway 290 East on a vehicle for speeding, failure to signal lane change, and defective equipment.  A probable cause search was conducted and marijuana as well as a fictitious temporary license plate were located.  Mahmoud Qerba, 26 of Houston, was taken into custody for Possession of Marijuana less than 2oz and Tampering with a Government Record.  Qerba was transported to the Washington County Jail where he was booked in.

Then on Saturday morning at 9:10, Officer Connor Caskey conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 2800 block of Highway 36 South for an equipment violation.  After investigation, the driver, Jaylon Mitchell, 20 of Brenham, showed to have an active warrant for his arrest out of Bexar County for Theft of between $100 and $750. Mitchell was arrested and transported to the Washington County Jail where he was booked in on the warrant.

Then Saturday evening at 10:05, Corporal David Dudenhoeffer conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of Highway 290 West for Defective Equipment. During the course of the traffic stop marijuana and methamphetamines were located during a search. Daylynn Black, 22 of Brenham, and Julian Vela, 34 of Brenham, were placed in custody for Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Controlled Substance.
