BRENHAM CUBS DEFEAT BELTON 42-7 TO GET FIRST WIN
After a one hour long lightning delay, the Brenham Cubs and the Belton Tigers were finally able to get onto the field, and it was all Cubs from there. Brenham rolled to a 42-7 victory over Belton.
Rylan Wooten got the scoring going in the first quarter with an 85 yard touchdown run at the 7:31 mark.
Then, as the quarter came to end, Wooten broke free again, and scored on a 55 yard touchdown run to make it 14-0 Cubs.
The Tigers would get what would turn out to be their only touchdown of the night with 5:30 left in the second quarter on a six yard touchdown run. That cut the lead to 14-7.
Wooten would then score on a six yard touchdown run of his own with 2:48 before the half to put Brenham ahead 21-7.
In the third quarter, Wooten would find Reid Robinson on a 19 yard touchdown pass with 5:34 left to make it 28-7 Cubs.
Then, right before the end of the quarter, Wooten would score again on a two yard run with 18.1 seconds to put Brenham ahead 35-7.
The Cubs would tack on one more score in the fourth quarter with Wooten finding Ian Stelter on a 13 yard touchdown pass with 5:37 left in the game.
