FOUR PEOPLE ARRSTED AFTER TRAFFIC STOPS
Four people were arrested over the weekend in separate incidents after traffic stops.
Brenham Police report that early Sunday morning at 1:05, Cpl. Jimmy Ha initiated a traffic stop near the 3000 block of Highway 290 East on a vehicle for failing to maintain a single line and driving on an improved shoulder. Contact was made with the driver, Mariano Alberto Ardon Amador, 39 of Humble, who had visible open alcoholic beverage containers in the vehicle. Cpl. Ha had Amador perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test, which he failed and was taken into custody for Driving While Intoxicated with an Open Container. Amador was transported to the Washington County Jail where he was booked in.
Then Monday morning at 8:20, Officer Eric Crosby initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1900 block of Highway 290 West for a license plate violation. After investigation, Maleki Cortez Lockett, 21 of Conroe, was taken into custody after admitting to possession of marijuana, which was located in the vehicle. Lockett was transported to the Washington County Jail where he was booked in to the jail for Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz.

Then Monday evening at 6:50, Officer Caskey effected a traffic stop on a vehicle for expired registration in the area of High Street and West First. A probable cause search was conducted due to the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Officer Caskey was able to locate a vape pen, which contained THC Oil. Nehemiah Miracle Garza, 18 of Pearland, was taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Then Monday night at 8:00, Officer Bruno effected a traffic stop in the 1800 block of Lauraine Street on a vehicle for defective headlamp. After investigation, Jarvis Lakeith Moore, 25 of Brenham, was taken into custody for Driving While License Invalid with a Previous Conviction and on a Class “C” warrant out of Brenham Municipal Court.
