API BASS TOURNAMENT FRIDAY, SATURDAY AT LAKE SOMERVILLE

  

The American Petroleum Institute’s (API) annual bass fishing tournament is set for this weekend at Lake Somerville Marina and Campground.

A registration event will be held tonight (Friday) starting at 5 p.m.  Food and drinks will be served, and there will be door prizes, drawings and toys for children.

The tournament starts tomorrow (Saturday) at 6 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m.

The top prizes are $1,000 for teams in the open division and $500 for teams in the sportsman division.  A $100 hourly big bass pot and overall big bass pot will also be offered.

Proceeds will benefit local charities and educational endowments.
