BRENHAM HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS RECEIVE ACADEMIC HONORS

  

16 students from Brenham High School have earned academic honors from the College Board National Recognition Programs.

These National Recognition Programs grant underrepresented students with academic honors that can be included on college and scholarship applications, and connect students with universities across the country.

Students who may be eligible have a GPA of 3.5 or higher, have excelled on the PSAT or PSAT 10, earned a score of 3 or higher on two or more AP exams, and are African American, Hispanic American, Indigenous, and/or attend school in a rural area or small town.

Eduardo Mendoza and Eric Cruz earned both the National Hispanic Recognition Award and the National Rural and Small Town Award.

Also winning National Rural and Small Town Awards were Abbey Cross, Adrie Niemeyer, Alex Dallmeyer, Ashton Behrens, Brady Lawhorn, Hank Kopech, Joshua Parker, Marisa Cromwell, Matthew Chen, Peter Do, Saif Mohammed, and Sam Lehmann.

Winning National Hispanic Recognition Awards were Lia Gonzalez and Xitali Botello.

Brenham High School Principal Jennifer Griffin said that they are very proud of the students for their achievements in the classroom and on the College Board assessments.

Eligible students will be invited to apply during their sophomore or junior year and will be awarded at the beginning of the next school year.

Students will receive their awards in time to include them on their college and scholarship applications.
