BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL TO MEET MONDAY
The Brenham City Council will hold its third meeting in eight days on Monday.
The only regular session item to consider will be a resolution concerning aviation fuel supply and associated services at the Brenham Municipal Airport. The resolution reads that after evaluating the city’s available options, soliciting competitive sealed proposals for fuel and services provides the best value for the city.
Section 252.021(c) of Texas Local Government Code states that a municipality that is considering using a method other than competitive sealed bidding must determine – before notice is given – the method of purchase that provides the best value.
Upon approval by council, a request for proposals will be published on Tuesday, and all submissions will be received by the city on October 18th.
The rest of the meeting will be spent behind closed doors, as the council has three executive session items to discuss. They include legal issues related to the Lake Somerville raw water lake intake structure and the Federal Emergency Management Agency; Aviators Plus, LLC v. City of Brenham; Cause No. 27896; 21st Judicial District Court, Washington County; and utility competitive matters pertaining to the city’s gas utility system.
The council will meet Monday at 8:30 a.m. at Brenham City Hall.
