TWO ARRESTED THURSDAY ON DRUG CHARGES

Two people were arrested Thursday on Drug Charges.

Brenham Police report that Thursday morning at 6:40, Cpl. David Dudenhoeffer effected a traffic stop in the area of Burleson and Pleasantview Avenue on a vehicle for Expired Registration.  Cpl. Dudenhoeffer made contact with the driver, Dennis Moore, 53 of Brenham and obtained consent to search the vehicle.  Cpl. Dudenhoeffer was able to locate suspected methamphetamines inside the vehicle and took Moore into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Moore also had 3 active warrants for traffic violations out of Brenham Municipal Court.

During the traffic stop contact was also made with the passenger, Amy Ambriz, 44 of Brenham, who was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamines as well and was taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Substance.  Once at the jail, Ambriz was found to have additional suspected methamphetamines, which she brought into the jail facility, after being informed it would be a further violation of law if she did so.  Ambriz was subsequently charged with Possession of Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility.
