BURTON LADY PANTHERS GET THREE SET SWEEP OVER SOMERVILLE

The Burton Lady Panther Volleyball Team continue to roll in district as they beat Somerville last (Tuesday) night.

The Lady Panthers won each of the sets 25-15, 25-8, and 25-18.

The win improves Burton to 3-0 in district which is good for first place. Meanwhile, Somerville drops to 0-3 in district.

In other district action: Mumford (3-1) swept Milano (2-1) 3-0.  Mumford won each set 25-18, 25-17, and 25-16.

Snook (0-3) had a bye.

Around the Area:

The Round Top-Carmine Cubettes beat Waelder 3-0.  RT-C won the sets 25-12, 25-6, and 25-7.  Mallory Krause dished out 14 assist.  Jill EIlers had 11 aces and 7 assists. Kaysie Ward had 8 kills.  Kim Rohde added 5 aces and 6 digs. The Cubettes are now 14-13 overall, and 2-1 in district.  Up next, they will host McDade on Friday.

  • Waller swept Klein Forest 3-0 (25-15, 25-13, and 25-18)
  • Columbus beat Rice Consolidated (25-11, 25-5, and 25-11)
