ROUND TOP-CARMINE DEFEATS FAYETTEVILLE IN ONE GAME PLAYOFF

The Round Top-Carmine Cubettes clinched the #1 seed in their district with a 3-1 win over Fayetteville in a one game playoff this past Saturday at the Kruse Center in Brenham.

The playoff was necessary after both teams finished tied for first.

Fayetteville won the first set 25-9.  However, Round Top-Carmine came back and won the next three sets 25-23, 25-23, and 25-11.

RT-C's Mallory Krause picked up her fifth triple-double of the season with 11 kills, 12 digs, and 10 assists.

Jill Eilers dished out 15 assists and had 10 digs. Kaysie Ward had 11 kills. Maggie Salinas led the team in digs with 22, followed Kim Rohde with 18, and Tess Eilers with 15.

The Cubettes now have a first round bye in the playoffs. They will await the Levrett Chapel-Goodrich winner later this week.
