AUSTIN CO. EMS STATION PROJECT ‘SLOWLY MOVING FORWARD’

  

Austin County officials say a project to build three new EMS stations across the county is rolling along, albeit gradually.

During a recent update on the construction of EMS facilities in Bellville, Industry and Wallis, County Judge Tim Lapham stated work is “slowly moving forward.”

Lapham said a full permit still needs to be obtained from the city for the station in Bellville, but the Industry and Wallis locations are progressing.

Commissioner Bobby Rinn said a meeting is being held to go over any concerns with the station in Industry.  Meanwhile, Commissioner Chip Reed said the Wallis station is doing well. 

The county broke ground on the three stations in September and is using funding from the American Rescue Plan to build them.  The facilities are projected to be complete in 12 months.
