BLINN MEN CRUSH BOSSIER PARISH 95-69

Elijah Elliott (#1)

The Blinn College men's basketball team continued its hot start to Region XIV play with a 95-69 road win over Bossier Parish Community College on Wednesday in Bossier City, La.

The victory pushed the Buccaneers' overall record to 8-4 while improving them to 3-0 in the region.

"Our guys came out and continued to get better," Blinn head coach Scott Schumacher said. "They continue to do what we're asking them to do. It's simplistic, but they guard well and they're moving the ball on offense to get easier shots. They're playing unselfish basketball and they're very mature in their approach to the game, and we attribute that to our 11 sophomores."

Blinn has also defeated Trinity Valley Community College and Paris Junior College during its undefeated region start.

The Bucs built a 50-38 halftime lead and controlled the game behind six double-digit performances.

Sophomore guard Elijah Elliott paced Blinn with 18 points, freshman guard Masiah Gilyard added 15, sophomore forward Alex Tsynkevich finished with 14, freshman forward Jamine Charles tallied 12, and sophomore guards Maurice Pinnock and Damian Watson chipped in 11 apiece.

The Bucs continue their season with a region home tilt against Panola College at 4 p.m. on Saturday, at the Kruse Center in Brenham, Texas.
