‘FIELD TO FORK’ EDUCATIONAL SERIES TO LAUNCH IN 2023

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and Texas Parks and Wildlife are presenting a new educational series in 2023.

“Field to Fork” was developed and designed to enhance the experience from the outdoors to the table.

The multi-county hunting and fishing endeavor is being hosted as a four-part series by Austin, Colorado, Fayette and Washington counties.  It focuses on harvesting, field dressing, processing and safe food handling while preparing wild game for the table.

The first workshop, covering waterfowl, will be held on January 13th at the Washington County Expo Event Center in Brenham.  Future workshops on wild hogs, fish and white-tailed deer will be held on April 21st, July 14th and October 20th in La Grange, Weimar and Bellville, respectively.

The Master of Ceremony for each session will be well-recognized wildlife biologist, author, and respected outdoor personality Larry Weishuhn.

Sessions will begin at 9 a.m. and conclude at noon.  Registration is $40 per session or $120 for the series.  Each session will include processing demonstrations, chef-prepared food demonstrations and tastings.

Each paid registrant will automatically have their name entered into a drawing for door prizes at each paid session.
