WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEET TUESDAY
The Washington County Commissioners Court will have several items to discuss during their next meeting on Tuesday morning.
The Commissioners will be voting on recommendations for the distribution of Hotel Occupancy Tax Grant funding for Spring 2023. Fund recipients include the Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce for the Art Walk and their Wine & Chocolate Tasting, the Chappell Hill Historical Society for the Bluebonnet Festival, Unity Theater for the 2022-2023 season, and Washington on the Brazos for Texas Independence Day.
Another item for discussion and possible action involves two invoices payable to Faith Mission Community Services related to the COVID 19 Operation of the Washington County Disaster Service Center for providing services during 2021. One of the invoices is for over $140,000, while the other is for over $58,000.
The Commissioners are also scheduled to approve a Memorandum of Understanding between Washington County and the City of Brenham concerning the County’s overpayment of expenses at Linda Anderson Park. The Memorandum states that the City would reimburse the County $36,750 a year for the next five years.
Other items include using grant funds to purchase Election Voting Equipment, rescinding the awarding of a construction contract with Shellback Construction for fence at the Washington County Jail, and presenting Service Awards for Washington County Employees that are celebrating five years of service.
