BURLESON COUNTY YOUTH GET TO SHOP WITH A COP
Members of the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office volunteered their time this past Friday to help some local youth get ready for Christmas.
Eleven students were chosen to participate in the third annual “Shop With a Cop” program.
The students were each picked up from school by a deputy and driven to the Walmart in Caldwell.
While at the store, each student received funds that were donated to the program to be used to shop for Christmas gifts.
After their shopping was complete, the kids were treated to pizza and dessert from Pizza Hut in Caldwell, while Sheriff’s Office employees wrapped their gifts for them.
Burleson County Sheriff Gene Hermes thanked Walmart, Pizza Hut, and Austin Chalk API for their generous donations to the “Shop With a Cop” program.
He added that they hope to continue to build on the program in the future.
