CUBS LOSE A HEARTBREAKER TO BRYAN 53-50
The Brenham Cub Basketball Team lost a heartbreaker to the Bryan Vikings 53-50 earlier this (Tuesday) afternoon.
The Cubs got off to a good start, and led 17-13 after the first quarter. They also outscored Bryan 14-9 in the second quarter to take a 31-22 lead going into the locker room at half time.
The Vikings came back and took the second half. They outscored Brenham 15-9 in the third quarter and 16-10 in the fourth quarter.
With the game tied 50-50, Bryan's C.J. Ellis hit a game winning three pointer at the buzzer to win it.
Shaun Ray led the Cubs with 16 points. Jamey Rogers added 11 points. Latorey Hardman had 10 points.
The loss drops Brenham to 9-7 on the season.
They are off now until January 3 when they return to district play against Lake Creek. Tipoff is at 6:30pm at the Brenham High School Gym (6:15pm pregame on KWHI 1280AM, 101.7FM, and kwhi.com).
